To:  The Community

As we prepare to enter into a new year, being excited about its possibilities, we
first take a moment to reflect on all that transpired during 2011. Because of your
support this year, H’COLA accomplished much and we thank you all so very
much. Some of our accomplishments were:
        African-American History Festival
        Christmas Treats for St. James Nursing Home
        Community Clean-Up Day
        Honor Student’s Luncheon
        Political Forums
        Progress Energy workshop
        Santa Comes to the Hill

We also participated in other community events, such as:
        Blues In the Park--a fundraiser for Franklin Promise: our members
volunteered man-hours to help prepare and serve plates
        Joy Night--a safe alternative to Halloween for our children: we purchased
food items and volunteered man-hours
        Franklin County School’s Graduation: we presented two scholarships
with funds collected from our 70s Bash

As we look forward to 2012, we vow to continue working for the betterment of
our community, as is our mission. It is our commitment to continue with many
of the projects listed above, adding others as the year unfolds.

One new project we are extremely proud of is being tapped by the City to
manage the newly-renovated Holy Family facility, a special jewel in our
community. We are incredibly excited about his, and commit to doing an
admirable job with this assignment, just as the other non-city entities are doing
in managing other city-owned properties. We thank the City for their trust in H’
COLA with this special task.

H’COLA recognizes the historical significance of Holy Family to our Hill
Community and looks forward to the many events and programs our
community members will sponsor in the building. As managers, we are merely
the overseers of the facility, assisting the City in this manner. However,
understanding the significance of this building to the Hill’s citizens, its rich
heritage and the many special memories for those who worshipped and/or
attended school there, we vow to honor and respect these memories,
intertwining them with its new designation as a Senior Citizen’s Center and
Community building.

As a non-profit, community-based organization, H’COLA appreciates your
support and respectfully requests your continued support in 2012. If you have
suggestions, questions and/or concerns, or interested in membership, please
contact a member of our Executive Board.

Have a blessed and prosperous New Year!
